Intuitive Stitching Workshop With Ania Zoltkowski August 19 7.30–9.30PM

We invite you to join us for a very special workshop with sustainable fashion-textile designer, researcher and educator Ania Zoltkowski, exploring intuitive embroidery.

Throughout history, many cultures viewed the creation of textiles and garments as sacred activities that held immense importance for the well-being of the community. The process of creating textiles was seen as a way to preserve sacred knowledge, and as the threads were woven, the object came to interlink the past, the present, and future worlds. During the crafting process, women would share their dreams and whisper prayers, weaving them into the fabrics.

In our fast-paced world, it often feels like our attention is constantly pulled in multiple directions. With this workshop, we invite you to join a gathering where we will slow down and connect in a collective ritual. You will be introduced to the sacred origins of embroidery and shown how we can use this craft to connect to the present moment.

About the Workshop:

This is not a step-by-step class that teaches you how to stitch; rather, we will work with developing the technique to stitch our desires, wishes and intentions into being.

This is an inclusive space in which we connect through making. Everyone is welcome and invited to stitch intuitively, no matter if you are a novice or a master embroiderer; the best way to learn to stitch is simply by doing, so we invite you to come along and just give it a go. All that is required is a curiosity to connect to materials and processes.

All materials are provided, and you will be able to bring the following home with you:
• Wooden embroidery hoop
• Embroidery needle
• Embroidery threads
• Fabric to embroider upon

Refreshments will be served during the workshop.

Please bring a journal and something to write with

We look forward to seeing you there! Spots are limited.
