Olga Fisch is a heritage-driven design brand founded in 1942 in Ecuador, rooted in the preservation and evolution of ancestral craftsmanship. Led by women and sustained as a family-run enterprise, it collaborates with Ecuador’s most skilled artisans to elevate traditional techniques through contemporary design. Each piece is handcrafted using generations-old methods, blending cultural storytelling with modern aesthetics. Committed to cultural continuity and ethical collaboration, Olga Fisch transforms tradition into timeless, meaningful objects, celebrating Ecuador’s identity through the hands of its makers.
Founded by Hungarian-born artist Olga Fisch, the brand is now run by Bernarda Polanco, the fourth-generation head and CEO. Inspired by keeping her family´s tradition of craft alive, Polanco lives the mission of the brand she runs.
The late Olga Fisch established the Quito-based brand in 1942 with a profound vision to preserve and elevate Ecuador’s indigenous artistry. A Hungarian émigré and self-taught designer, she immersed herself in Andean textile traditions, learning directly from local artisans and refining their techniques with precision and respect. Her legacy lives on through the brand’s continued commitment to women-led craftsmanship, cultural storytelling, and handcrafted denim and cotton garments that honor ancestral knowledge while embracing contemporary design. Today, Olga Fisch stands as both a tribute to her pioneering spirit and a platform for Ecuadorian makers to thrive.
