Basny Rugs

Basny Rugs is a Kyiv-based textile brand founded in 2016 by Volodymyr Benedychuk and Nadiia Puchkina. Blending traditional weaving techniques with local artists’ contemporary designs, the brand seeks to preserve the Ukrainian cultural tradition of northern rug weavers. The name derives from the dialect word basny, meaning fantasy - a nod to the abstract, mystical quality at the heart of the brand’s imagery. Each piece is developed in collaboration with artists and designers, combining archaic techniques with modern visual language. The result is a meeting of art, tradition, and function, rugs as both cultural artifact and living design.
