At first, a historic jewelry piece Hryvna was worn only by men. Soldiers of Kyivan Rus were rewarded with this type of open necklace for their brave deeds. Since hryvna made its way to the women’s wardrobe, it became more precise and elaborate in design. Reimagined from the modern perspective, a twisted hryvna incarnates in the GUNIA Project choker.
