Tipu Pinch Pot

The Pinch Pot is hand-crafted using traditional techniques in the Indian town of Channapatna. Made with locally sourced Hale Maara (ivory wood), each piece is turned on a lathe to achieve the desired form, then pressed with lac, a natural resin that melts into the wood through heat and friction. The glossy orange and yellow finish is derived naturally from turmeric, manjistha, and indigo, then polished with screwpine for a glossy finish. The collection utilises a closed-loop craft ecosystem active for over two centuries, with all materials locally sourced from regenerative trees. Each pinch pot has a vibrant orange body with an indigo ring and is perfect for storing salt.
