The Lengua Shiringa Chair explores new possibilities by integrating ancestral materials into contemporary, sustainable design. Featuring bioleather, a sustainable material made from wild rubber responsibly harvested by Awajún women in the northern Peruvian Amazon. The latex is extracted without harming the trees and is then handcrafted into a flexible, durable bioleather. Natural dyes like achiote (Bixa orellana) allow for a rich variety of colors, making it adaptable to different design applications.
