This artefacto was designed by Lørdag & Søndag in Mexico City and hand-woven by master artisan Don Claudio in the Sierra Madre Oriental- mountain range of  the State of Oaxaca, Mexico. These pieces are woven without an interior metal estructure using G’noo Xombé Nisin fiber, in mazatec, local language from this region. Artefacto could be used as a sculpture or as a standing lamp. Electric components are included.

Regularly wipe it with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth. Clean up spills immediately to prevent stains, and use only mild soap with water—never harsh chemicals. Every 6 to 12 months, lightly sand the surface and reapply hard wax oil to maintain its protection and finish. Avoid placing hot items or wet objects directly on the table, and keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight.

Lørdag & Søndag is a Mexico City–based design studio founded in 2011 by brothers Salvador and Enzo Compañ. They work closely with master artisans from various regions of Mexico to develop pieces called Artefactos that blend traditional techniques (weaving, fiber, stonework, wood, volcanic rock etc.) with clean, modern and timeless design aesthetics.
