A blend of mountain river curves and rock veins slitting the monolithic cliff. Despite its apparent chaos, this pattern shapes a nuanced rhythm, subtly guiding the eye and the thought.
A Basny rug is a classic textile item, woven from sheep’s wool. In the Hutsul locality, this type of rug is called lizhnyk and is used in both regular life and custom rituality. Basny’s lizhnyk styles are hand-crafted utilizing time-honored technique, that involves more than ten stages. The process starts with collecting and processing the wool, leading to the final treatment of a finished object.
Please be aware that because of the artisanal methods used in making, small twigs and leaves might get caught in the fibers. Hand-dyed and handcrafted items may also show irregularities in size and color.
Size: 150 x 200 cm

The handmade nature of the product may result in variations in sizes and colors.
The rug should be vacuumed often to ensure longevity and maintain its initial condition. Vacuum the top at least once a week and the back every few weeks. Use a standard flat vacuum cleaner nozzle rather than a rotating brush.
The thick pile can hold the liquid on the surface of the rug. So any spillage should be immediately pat dried with a paper towel or dry cloth. Smaller stains or dirt should be cleaned with a soft-bristled brush and warm water using a small amount of liquid hand soap.
Delivery within 21-28 days. VAT is included in the price. Deliveries to non-EU countries might come with extra taxes and import duties that the customer must cover.

Basny Rugs is a Kyiv-based textile brand founded in 2016 by the visual and sound artist Volodymyr Benedychuk. Blending traditional weaving techniques from the Carpathian Mountains with local artists’ contemporary designs, the brand seeks to preserve the Ukrainian cultural tradition of northern rug weavers. The name derives from the dialect word basny, meaning fantasy - a nod to the abstract, mystical quality at the heart of the brand’s imagery. Each piece is developed in collaboration with artists and designers, combining archaic techniques with modern visual language. The result is a meeting of art, tradition, and function, rugs as both cultural artifact and living design.
