A Pop up by Madeiran Fashion Brand Bailha 24–26 July

Bailha Pop Up Store
July 24–26
We were pleased to welcome Bailha, a contemporary fashion brand from Madeira, for a special three-day pop-up at our store in Berlin Mitte. Known for their refined embroidered shirts and t-shirts, Bailha is a purpose-driven fashion and cultural project rooted in Madeira’s centuries-old embroidery tradition. They collaborate closely with local women artisans to create genderless hand-embroidered pieces that honor Madeiran heritage while reimagining it for the future.
Opening Night Apéro
July 24 5.00 PM–9.00 PM
On the evening of the 24th of July, we hosted a kick-off of the pop-up together with the founder of Bailha, David Oliveira. With some Madeiran wine and tunes, we welcomed guests to discover a collection for men and women that bridges heritage craftsmanship with timeless design.
Madeiran Embroidery Workshop
July 26 9.30 AM–12.00 PM
Together with Madeira-based artisan Dorina Pita and Bailha-founder David Oliviera, we hosted a workshop about traditional hand embroidery, led by Madeira-based artisan Dorina Pita. This intimate workshop taught participants traditional stitches like ponto corda, garanito, and matiz and let them embroider their own organic cotton tote bag with Madeiran-inspired designs. Participants were also given an introduction to the history and cultural significance of Madeira embroidery by David Oliviera.
The pop up and workshop were supported by IVBAM.
IVBAM (Instituto do Vinho, do Bordado e do Artesanato da Madeira) is the regional institution responsible for protecting, regulating, and promoting Madeira’s wine, embroidery, and crafts. Through certification and international outreach, IVBAM ensures the authenticity and continuity of Madeira's rich artisanal legacy.
