Fireweed tea, primarily known as “Ivan Chai”, is a traditional Ukrainian tea that has been drunk and appreciated for many years, not only for its unique taste. This hand-picked herbal tea comes from the wilderness surrounding the organic factory Molfar. In summer, the leaves of the plant are picked by the village community, fermented in the factory and then dried. This is how the fireweed becomes our Ivan Chai. Its aromatic and mildly tart note is reminiscent of black tea and its scent is reminiscent of warm honey. In Eastern Europe, tea has a long history as a remedy: Ivan Chai is free of caffeine, has a calming effect and ensures balance and well-being. This makes it the ideal drink for relaxed evenings.
Conflict Food is a Berlin-based 'slow' start-up with the goal of supporting people in crisis regions through fair trade. By directly engaging in trade with the farmers in conflict areas, people are empowered and stories of culinary cultures are passed on.
