Cornelio Borda’s designs are intricately developed between Peru and Italy and manufactured in Peru, collaborating with specialists in both countries. This underlines our commitment to sustainability, emphasizing the repurposing of waste materials and aligning with the ethos of sustainable non-fast fashion brands.

In our Alpaca Carpet line, we consciously refrain from using any animal fur. Instead, we incorporate Alpaca wool and, in some models, Pima Cotton yarn sourced from the remnants of clothing production in Peru. Utilizing this yarn, we meticulously craft a unique carpet, handmade stitch by stitch. This carpet is then hand-brushed to achieve a soft feel and look for our shoes and bags. The initial trials of this embroidery technique were pioneered with artisans from the Marche Region in Italy several years ago. Subsequently, we extended this practice to collaborate with talented female artisans from Peru. Each artisan dedicates one day to embroider two pairs of our handcrafted Alpaca shoes.
