Behind the vest

The vests by Mexico City-based design studio Sentimiento are 100% upcycled and made of school uniforms' waste. Sourced in a factory in Mexico City, each stripe has a different name. We see this garment as an anthropological study of Mexican culture and history too.
Through them, Mexican icons can be read like Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz (Mexican prolific poet and writer), Zapata, or Teyolizcali, which in náhuatl means "something that gives life and understanding to the soul."
