Mozhdeh Matin is a unique clothing brand that celebrates community, heritage, and craftsmanship. The designer, Mozhdeh Matin, was born in Peru to Iranian parents, and her designs are inspired by a blend of vibrant colors, soft shapes, and interesting textures. These special clothes have been lovingly made in Peru since 2008, using traditional Peruvian weaving and knitting techniques, combined with a modern twist and creative fabric experiments.

At around the age of 19 or 20, Mozhdeh Matin entered a contest organized by Peru Moda, which marked the beginning of her journey in the fashion industry. Winning the contest opened doors for her, leading to her first fashion show while she was still in the early stages of her studies. This achievement also granted her the opportunity to embark on an internship in Paris and later to explore various regions of Peru. During her travels, she had the chance to connect with different artisan communities, offering her a glimpse into a world beyond the confines of her fashion school education. Mozhdeh's fascination with the work of Peru's native population ignited her passion for textiles, community engagement, and artisan craftsmanship—themes that define her brand.
At Mozhdeh Matin, most of our production is made to order. It combines timeless design with high quality, and it is ethically and fairly crafted. We strive to ensure all our materials come from sustainable sources that seek to give back to all communities involved and who incorporate fair trade principles and standards into their core values. We use eco-friendly natural dyes that ensure clean production processes and source sustainable raw materials.
In 2019, Mozhdeh Matin introduced shiringa, a sustainable alternative to leather sourced from the Peruvian Amazon. This latex is collected without harming trees or the environment and supports local communities. Mozhdeh Matin has turned shiringa into a warm, waterproof, and elastic material for fashion, offering an ethical and sustainable alternative to traditional leather.
The brand uses 100% Peruvian Pima cotton, a distinctive variety exclusive to Peru, known for its exceptional attributes such as its long staple length (42 mm), extraordinary softness, and remarkable brightness. The cotton they employ is procured from a Fair-Trade and GOTS certified enterprise with a 35-year legacy of championing cotton textile production in Peru. Their operations have a positive impact on over 160 families residing in three distinct valleys within the country.
We take pride in using top-quality Peruvian Alpaca wool for our garments. Our commitment to sustainability is unwavering. We ensure that the wool harvesting process is environmentally responsible and doesn't harm the Alpaca herds or their habitats. When you choose our garments, you're not only getting the best in Alpaca wool quality but also supporting ethical and eco-friendly practices in fashion.
