Maqu was founded by Peruvian designer Marisa Fuentes Prado in 2016 in Berlin as an integrally sustainable proposal with initiatives in favor of the education of children in the Andes of Peru, the use of high-quality organic materials, and natural dyeing with ingredients of Peruvian origin.
