Studio Conchita is based in Mexico city, founded in 2019 by Renata Blanco. Her signature material glass is being repurposed for dreamy jewelry inspired by Mexico’s everyday life. Each piece is unique and produced in limited amounts, ethically handmade in collaboration with local artisans.

GLASS BLOWING
Blanco grew up in a glass background that shimmered under her father's work. It became only natural for her to be attracted to the craft later on. Even though, in the beginning, she wasn't fully invested, she rediscovered that path and fell in love with the process under her own terms.
Blanco adds: "I see Conchita as my alter ego, especially because the practice of blown glass is a physically demanding profession, mainly dominated by men, so I become "Conchita" when I work. I think that person is strong, very expressive, not afraid of limits, and loves to experiment."
REINERPRETING TRADITION
Guadalajara is known for its glass craftsmanship, specifically for "vidrio soplado", or blown glass. With this technique, artisans blow into the hot glass to create from miniature whales to huge colorful flower pots. Blanco dives into her roots by acquiring broken or leftover glass in order to create her own pieces. By brainstorming with the artisans and ruminating on her own thoughts is how Blanco creates her pieces.
