By Peruvian fashion brand Cornelio Borda by Renata García-Menacho.

Cornelio Borda’s designs are meticulously developed between Peru and Italy and manufactured in Peru, collaborating with experts in both countries. This reinforces our commitment to sustainability through the reuse of waste materials, aligning with the principles of sustainable non fast fashion brands.

"Our Alpaca Carpet line avoids the use of any animal fur, incorporating Alpaca wool and, in some models, Pima Cotton yarn. These materials are responsibly sourced from the remnants of clothing production in Peru. Using this yarn, we meticulously create a unique type of carpet, handmade stitch by stitch. This carpet is then hand-brushed to achieve a soft feel and look for our Alpaca shoes and Alpaca bags. The initial trials of this embroidery technique took place with artisans from the Marche Region in Italy several years ago. Subsequently, we continued this collaboration with skilled female artisans from Peru. Each artisan dedicates one day to embroider two pairs of our handcrafted Alpaca shoes. Explore our collection, including Alpaca bags, and support our commitment to sustainable practices in the fashion industry."

Meet Cornelio Borda

In her work, Renata García-Menacho combines her love for Peruvian culture with Italian craftsmanship. She works directly with Peruvian and Italian artisans in order to promote cultural exchange in the development of her products.

The founder has worked with several Italian companies dedicated to creating ideas, materials, and designs for the fashion conglomerates LMVH and Kering. Her love for accessories motivated her to move to the Marche region of Italy to work directly with Italian artisans who are experts in the sector. After this journey, she returned to Peru and founded Cornelio Borda: an ode to her family supported by her talent and experience.
